Little Shop of Horrors is based on the low-budget 1960 black comedy film of the same name. Starring Lee Wilkof, Ellen Green and Ron Taylor, Little Shop of Horrors ran for a total of 2,209 performances. As popularity grew Little Shop of Horrors grew from the stage to the screen in a 1986 film adaptation directed by Frank Oz.
