The audience of Michael Feinstein's concert at Feinstein's at the Nikko got lucky last night when he invited legend of the star and stage, his friend Liza Minnelli, up to the stage with him to perform 'I Love A Piano.' The number was dedicated to the celebration and memory of Minnelli's mother, beloved actress Judy Garland.

As previously reported, Liza Minnelli recently announced her full recovery from her back surgery and gave a surprise performance in Hollywood earlier this month. The 68-year-old appeared on stage at Cortes Alexander's annual holiday show at Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal in Hollywood, CA, on December 22 to support her close friend. The star went on to perform a duet of 'I Love a Violin' with Alexander and received a standing ovation from the enthusiastic crowd, which included Barbra Streisand's son Jason Gould and half-sister Roslyn Kind. With her mother Judy Garland and her father the Award winning director Vincent Minnelli, her's is the only family where both parents and child have won an Oscar. Her god parents were Ira Gershwin and Kay Thompson. Liza made her screen debut in 1949 as a toddler with her mother in the MGM movie musical In the Good Old Summertime.
