Sutton also starred on Broadwayas Princess Fiona in Shrek: The Musical, for which she was honored with Tony and Drama Desk nominations, and the Outer Critics Circle Award. Prior to that, Sutton was Inga in the Mel Brooks musical, Young Frankenstein, Janet Van De Graaff in The Drowsy Chaperone (2006 Tony and Drama Desk Award nominations, LA Ovation Award) and Jo March in Little Women: The Musical (2005 Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle Award nominations). She is the recipient of the 2002 Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Astaire Awards for her performance as Millie Dillmount in Thoroughly Modern Millie, a role she created in the 2000 La Jolla Playhouse premiere.
Gerard Mortier and the New York City Opera have commissioned Charles Wuorinen, an American composer, to turn Annie Proulx's Brokeback Mountain into a work for the operatic stage. Proulx wrote the libretto, and Wuorinen completed the opera in 2012. The premiere was postponed after New York City Opera's General Director, Gerard Mortier, resigned. The project was then again taken up by Mortier at the Teatro Real in Madrid and is set to premiere today, January 28, 2014. Check out some clips and behind-the-scenes video below!

Esta semana han tenido lugar en Madrid las audiciones para el musical Annie, que se estrenará en el Teatro Nuevo Apolo el próximo 9 de Octubre. Cerca de 400 niñas entre 6 y 12 años se presentaron con la esperanza de llegar a interpretar a la joven Annie, o alguna de las otras 12 huérfanas de la historia. BroadwayWorld Spain pudo asistir a una de estas audiciones en el Círculo Catalán de Madrid, en la que las niñas realizaron pruebas de danza y canto.
