Boosey & Hawkes, an Imagem Company, is proud to announce it has purchased Ytalianna Music Publishing LLC, including the acquisition of worldwide copyrights to all published works by the celebrated Argentine composer Osvaldo Golijov. The new core publishing and copyright acquisition places Golijov alongside Boosey & Hawkes' remarkable roster of distinguished composers, including modern masters such as Bartók, Copland, and Stravinsky, as well as leading contemporary figures such as John Adams, Louis Andriessen, Elliott Carter, and Steve Reich. NJSO and Princeton University to Host Edward T. Cone Composition Institute, 7/15-19

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and Princeton University Department of Music announce the four composers of the inaugural NJSO Edward T. Cone Composition Institute, a multi-faceted program that promotes new music and emerging composers. Hairspray seems to have been doing the rounds in the UK since it closed in the West End in 2010. It is a very popular show among audiences and although the last national tour is still fresh in our mind, the Curve's Artistic Director Paul Kerryson has decided his venue would do a brand new production. Some may say a good idea and others bad but regardless, the Curve is notorious for its phenomenal production values so personally I am very excited about this new offering. (more...)

NJ Symphony Orchestra Launches NJSO Edward T. Cone Composition Institute

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra announces the NJSO Edward T. Cone Composition Institute, a multi-faceted program that promotes new music and emerging composers, presented in collaboration with the Princeton University Department of Music and generously funded in part by the Edward T. Cone Foundation. The Institute will select up to four composers to participate in five days of intense compositional evaluations and consultations July 15-19 on the Princeton University campus; the program will culminate in a live concert performance of the participants' works by the NJSO and Music Director Jacques Lacombe on July 19 at the Richardson Auditorium.
