Winner of 44 major theatre awards from around the globe, Mary Poppins has captivated audiences for generations with its enchanting story, unforgettable songs and dazzling dance numbers. Mary Poppins is the story of a mysterious nanny who magically appears at the Banks household in Edwardian London to care for Jane and Michael Banks. Beth Malone, Best Actress Tony nominee and star of the 2015 Tony winning best musical Fun Home, has sold out the house less than 24-hours after the announcement that she will be returning to Joe's Pub for one night only on Monday, August 31st at 7:30 PM, with her one woman show Beth Malone: So Far. Due to popular demand, Malone has added a second performance that evening at 9:30 PM. Ring of Fire is a jukebox musical based on the music of Johnny Cash. The main problem with the show's original concept was that it didn't tell the story of the Man in Black. The show originally used 38 musical numbers to try to portray 'a mosaic of American experience'. That original Broadway production only lasted a month. (more...)
