For the third production in Cortland Repertory Theatre's 43rd annual summer season, the epic, international hit musical 'LES MISERABLES' takes the stage. Based on Victor Hugo's novel, the script of the musical is written by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg, with music by Schonberg and lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer. Performances of CRT's production will run from tonight, July 9 - 26 with evening performances at 7:30. Matinees are available on July 11, 13, 16, 20, and 23 at 2:00 PM. Tickets may be purchased by calling 800-427-6160 or by visiting the CRT Box Office at 24 Port Watson Street in downtown Cortland. Judah & the Lion is announcing their first ever US headlining tour following the news of the September 9th release of their debut album Kids These Days on Good Time Records. The US trek will kick off on October 1st in Ashville, NC at New Earth Music Hall and have the boys playing 200-400 capacity rooms with stops in several major cities along the way including Atlanta, GA/Masquerade on October 4th, New York City/The Studio at Webster Hall on October 8th, Denver, CO/Larimer Lounge on November 8th, Minneapolis, MN/7th Street Entry on November 13th and Chicago, IL/Schubas on November 15th. A report from the Institute of Medicine's says, "Divisive battles among the health care disciplines have resulted in inhibited teamwork and collaboration by health care professionals." Unfortunately, only about 30 percent of medical schools are trying to fix the poor teamwork cited in the study with interprofessional education programs that teach communication, teamwork, and collaboration among health care professionals. Prohition Themed 5k Takes Place in Memphis, 8/30

Memphis, TN- Trivium Racing is putting runners in the shoes of their bootleggin' ancestors, in this new night- time trail 5K that will transform Shelby Farms Park on August 30th, to a historic period of American history. As runners don their headlamps, individuals will test their good judgment through the backcountry trails under the moonlight attempting to arrive at one goal: Moonshine. This event will transition runners back to the 1920's Prohibition Era rum running and race through the wooded trails of the backcountry. As runners 'escape the law' running through the dark night, participants have their sights set on the finish which is scattered with Piedmont Distilleries Moonshine as well as live Bluegrass and Old- Timey Music. The race is open to those of all ages, however those over the age of 21 will receive two free Moonshine drink tickets as part of the post- race party. HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME Producer Raising $5M to Keep Show Open

Broadway's Holler If Ya Hear Me opened to mixed reviews last month, but lead producer Eric L. Gold won't let that affect the show's open-ended run at the Palace Theatre. He recently told Variety that he hopes to raise another $5 million to keep the new musical open until ticket sales improve. When asked how long the show will remain, Gold told Variety: 'It's week to week right now. It can't tell you if it'll be two weeks or two months. It's an expensive game, and I'm the guy carrying the load financially. I made a rookie mistake by underestimating how much capital was necessary, but I'm tenacious.' (more...)
