Music Theatre of Connecticut MainStage, Fairfield County's award-winning professional theatre company, will present an evening with Tony® nominee Adam Pascal, star of Broadway's 'Rent, 'Aida,' 'Memphis,' 'Cabaret' and 'Chicago' and numerous feature films including 'Rent.' The one night only event will take place on Saturday, September 26 at The Melissa & Doug Theatre at MTC, 509 Westport Avenue (behind the Jones New York and Nine West Outlet) in Norwalk, CT. Anderson who will present exclusive findings in the Emmett Till case documented in his book, Emmett Till: The Murder That Shocked the World and Propelled the Civil Rights Movement, on Wednesday, August 26 at 6pm. With over 40,000 fans in town for Elvis Week celebrating the life and career of the King of Rock 'n' Roll at Graceland, music fans and collectors in Memphis and around the world participated on site and online in hopes of going home with a piece of Elvis history at the third 'Auction at Graceland,' which brought over $950,000 last night. Presented by Graceland Auctions, the auction was the largest and most comprehensive auction yet held at the Graceland Archive Studio. All of the items in the auction were from third-party collectors and none of the items included in the auction came from the treasured Graceland Archives. (more...)

With 2015 declared as the 'Year of Alabama BBQ,' the Alabama Tourism Department is proud to announce The Masters of Alabama Barbecue photo exhibit and tour will be on-site at the Atlanta Bar-B-Q Festival this week. The photo exhibit, spotlighting 26 popular Alabama barbecue chefs and their favorite dishes, is touring top barbecue festivals across the nation, having made its first stop at Memphis in May. Accompanying the exhibit will be the new 57-minute documentary film titled Q - Alabama Barbecue Legends that features interviews with barbecue greats such as John Bishop Jr. from Dreamland, Don McLemore and Chris Lilly from Big Bob Gibson, Nick Pihakis from Jim 'N Nick's, Van Sykes from Bob Sykes and many others.
