The Drama League has announced the fourteen exceptional stage directors receiving the fellowships, assistantships, and residencies of the 2023 Drama League Directors Project.

Actor and Director Alex Roe will be taking over the role of Horace Melville in Obie Award winner Metropolitan Playhouse's sell-out premiere of Neith Boyce's THE SEA LADY. Roe is known for his performances at Metropolitan as Jesse James in MISSOURI LEGEND, Richard Dudgeon in THE DEVIL'S DISCIPLE, and Blemie, the dog, in Eugene O'Neill's LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF SILVERDENE EMBLEM O'NEILL.

The Barbican today announces its full January to August 2020 Theatre and Dance programme in the Barbican Theatre and The Pit. The Drama League has announced the twelve stage directors who have been selected as the 2019 Directing Fellows of The Drama League Directors Project: NJ Agwuna, Sharifa Elkady, Raz Golden, Chika Ike, Rebecca Marzalek-Kelly, Ismael Lara, Jr., Amanda McRaven, Lindsey Hope Pearlman, Ben Randle, Tai Thompson, Gabriel Torres, and Sophia Watt. They will be publicly introduced to the professional theatre community during the 85th Annual Drama League Awards, which will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway). Following the announcement of The Lovely Bones, A Christmas Carol and Everyman rock 'n' roll panto The Snow Queen earlier this year, the Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse has revealed its full programme for Autumn Winter 2018. Book adaptations, comedians, music, familiar faces and new collaborations to join their in-house productions for the season.

Cambridge Arts Theatre today announce full casting for James Roose-Evans' adaptation of Helene Hanff's novel 84 Charing Cross Road, in collaboration with Lee Dean and Salisbury Playhouse. Joining the previously announced Stefanie Powers (Helene Hanff) and Clive Francis (Frank Doel) are Fiona Bruce (Mrs Todd), Loren O'Dair (Megan/Maxine), William Oxborrow (Mr Martin), Samantha Sutherland (Cecily Farr) and Ben Tolley (Bill Humphries/Alvin). The production opens at Darlington Hippodrome on Wednesday 23 May before touring to Wolverhampton, Malvern, Richmond, Oxford and finishing at Cambridge Arts Theatre on 30 June.

Semyon Bychkov will return to the New York Philharmonic to conduct two weeks of programs, including the 50th anniversary of a Philharmonic commission, artist debuts, and symphonic cornerstones. In the first week, Mr. Bychkov will conduct Mendelssohn's Piano Concerto No. 1, with soloist Bertrand Chamayou in his Philharmonic debut; Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5; and Brahms's Tragic Overture, Thursday, May 17, 2018, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, May 18 at 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, May 19 at 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, May 22 at 7:30 p.m. 

Wandsworth Arts Fringe launched its 2018 programme today with a rich array of shows and events to suit all ages, interests and tastes. During its nine-year history, South London's premiere arts festival has gone from strength to strength. This year is the biggest yet with the festival playing host to over 170 shows in over 55 venues across the borough from May 4 to 20. With an eclectic range of arts and culture, every conceivable space both indoor and outdoor will buzz with activity and creative endeavour.

Two-time Tony Award nominee and celebrated screen actress Dana Ivey (Sunday in the Park with George, Heartbreak House, Driving Miss Daisy) is set to appear as Aunt Mary, the steadfast no nonsense matriarch of the Drexel Biddle family in Walt Disney's The Happiest Millionaire, celebrating its 50th anniversary in a concert benefitting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
