The Erie Art Museum Presents ARTafterDARK, 5/23

The Erie Art Museum is organizing the next Gallery Night, scheduled for Friday, May 23 from 7 until 10 p.m., A city-wide art gallery crawl through local, independent galleries and the Museum, participating Gallery Night venues will open their doors after-hours for visitors to get up close and personal with art and artists in a unique way. Each gallery offers a different experience, from artist meet & greets to wine samplings to live music, and visual art, featuring local, regional, and national artists. Visit five or more locations for a chance to win a gift certificate from each participating location. Admission is free to the public. Visitors are invited to end night at the Erie Art Museum for a brand new art experience, ARTafterDARK, an art party on the Museum's patio from 9-11 p.m. Denver-based, and Erie Native, Philip Berarducci, known as DJ Phil Tha Bass, along with DJ Rhythm Provide, will provide a steady stream of entertainment on the patio. Guests will also enjoy a taco bar provided by El Toro Loco, along with craft beer and cocktails, and have the opportunity to create their own art using old vinyl records. Tickets are $10, and are sold at the Museum in advance, or at the door the night of the event. Only a limited number will be sold. Other participating galleries include Bayfront Gallery, D'Hopkins Denniston Gallery Fine Art, Funky Bungalow, Glass Growers Gallery, Kada Gallery, and Lighthouse Jewelers. The Museum maintains an ambitious program of changing exhibitions annually, embracing a wide range of subjects, both historical and contemporary and including folk art, contemporary craft, multi-disciplinary installations, community-based work, as well as traditional media.
