BWW Review: Catch The 'Jersey Boys' While You Can
by BWW Staff - Sep 26, 2016

To call JERSEY BOYS a 'jukebox musical' is downright myopic, as underneath the musical's cotton-candy pop hits lies a piercing story of ambition, love, drugs, sex, greed, failures, triumphs, and yes, Family Values. However, it would take more than a fanatic mind to look beyond those monster hits to see the real heart of the show--one that tells of realities past that still ring true in today's cutthroat music industry. Audiences may be more familiar with DiPietro as the author of the long-running musical revue I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change. It is easy to see why the show was a long running success. BWW Review: A.D. Players' LITTLE WOMEN: THE MUSICAL Is the Theatrical Equivalent to Curling Up With a Good Book
by Natalie de la Garza - Jun 24, 2016

LITTLE WOMEN: THE MUSICAL is quite the curiosity -- a musical that isn't particularly enhanced or defined by its music. But though the music may be mostly forgettable, the voices in the A.D. Players' production are not. Neither are the performances. It is the cast that ultimately elevates this admittedly simplistic but feel-good show to one of the must-sees of the summer. (more...)

BWW Review: A Coveted Family Heirloom Creates Havoc for Cousins in BAD JEWS
by Shari Barrett - Jul 25, 2016

Everyone knows how tough it is to get along with family members after an elderly relative passes away when more than one person covets a family heirloom not mentioned in the will. Such is the case between two cousins in BAD JEWS, written by Joshua Harmon and directed by Sabrina Lloyd, which was presented by NotTheMom Productions at Hollywood's Theatre of NOTE through July 24, 2016. It's my hope the exemplary production will find its way into another theater or perhaps motivate audiences at synagogues around Los Angeles to discuss how Holocaust survivor families choose to honor their relatives who suffered during that awful time period.
