BWW Interview: Legendary Barry Bostwick Discusses Career, DEVIL'S CARNIVAL, Broadway Return

The man who spoke that iconic line on film is equally as legendary as the words themselves. Not only did Barry Bostwick play Brad Majors in the ROCKY HORROR film, but he also originated the role of Danny Zuko in GREASE on Broadway, won a Tony for THE ROBBER BRIDEGROOM, and was nominated two other times. Since his beginnings on stage, he has become a nearly omnipresent face on screens both large and small for over four decades. Recently, I spoke with Bostwick while he was shooting in Vancouver about ALLELUIA!, his wildly eclectic career, and what it would take to get him back on a Broadway stage.

Independent Curators International (ICI), Pratt Manhattan Gallery, and Franklin Furnace will present Knowledge Carnival, a series of student performances developed in Professor Karen Finley's class titled Creative Response: Performance Matters, held at the Department of Art and Public Policy, Tisch School of the Arts, NYU. Martha Wilson, founding director of Franklin Furnace, invited the burgeoning artists to present their work at Pratt Manhattan Gallery after visiting the class in fall 2014. Curated by Leonie Ettinger, the programming is inspired by Wilson's body of work and the myriad experimental performances embedded in Franklin Furnace's history.

Carnival Triumph Makes Inaugural Call To Dominica

Dominica welcomed Carnival Triumph of Carnival Cruise Lines (CCL) this week as it made its inaugural call, arriving at the Roseau Cruise Ship Berth. With a passenger capacity of 2,754 and crew size of 1,100, Carnival Triumph sailed to the "Nature Island" from Grenada. This is the Triumph's only scheduled call to Dominica during the 2014/2015 cruise season.
