Howard Hawks, the quintessential Hollywood director known for his mastery of many genres, will be the subject of a complete retrospective at Museum of the Moving Image from today, September 7 through November 10, 2013. The Museum will present 39 features. All of the films will be shown in 35mm-many in stunning restorations-except for Red Line 7000, which will be shown in 16mm.

General/Artistic Director Pelham 'Pat' Pearce announces Central City Opera's (CCO) 2014 Summer Festival, running today, June 28 through August 13, 2014, featuring Mozart's beloved opera, The Marriage of Figaro; Jake Heggie's opera Dead Man Walking, based on the true story and famous book written by Sister Helen Prejean about her relationship with Lousiana death row inmate Joseph De Rocher which was also an award-winning movie; and Rodgers and Hammerstein II's glorious musical The Sound of Music performed in Denver at the Buell Theatre in the Denver Performing Arts Complex.

Called the 'hottest thing with a bow since Jennifer Lawrence in The Hunger Games' by the New York Daily News, Well-Strung: the Singing String Quartet will return to Provincetown's Art House theater this season. Since the group's 3-month run at the venue last summer, they've been on a roll - with two recent hit New York productions Off-Broadway and their first album released this spring. The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the Globe's revival of N. Richard Nash's classic romantic comedyThe Rainmaker. Directed by Maria Mileaf, The Rainmaker will run July 13 - August 11, 2013 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.
