 Irvington Town Hall Theater in association with NiCori Studios and Productions announces the finale Cabaret on the Hudson for the 2015/2016 season on Sunday, April 10 at 3pm. Cabaret on the Hudson is a series that features outstanding cabaret performers, each bringing a 25 minute sampling of their New York City cabaret shows to Westchester, NY. Many of the performers are Broadway veterans and have performed in New York City venues such as 54 BELOW, the Oak Room at the Algonquin, Birdland, Feinstein's at Loews Regency, Iridium, the Metropolitan Room and Jazz at Lincoln Center to name a few. Cabaret on the Hudson will be hosted by multi-nominated Cabaret singer and host of the Music at the Mansion series, Corinna Sowers Adler and will feature James Horan on piano.   (more...)

BWW Review: There's No Place like the Academy Playhouse for THE WIZARD OF OZ

There is so much about the heartwarming nature complete with a simple lesson learned and the sheer magic involved in making that happen that have brought many to profess their love of The Wizard of Oz, which is, in essence, a wonderful story that tugs at the heartstrings ever so slightly. From an adult who grew up watching the well-known 1939 movie starring Judy Garland to a child who may have read L. Frank Baum's book about the strange adventures of one Dorothy Gale and her "little dog" Toto in their quest to find their way back to Kansas, the pure innocence of this tale creates a world that generations have found (and continue to find) fascinating. Center for Jewish History to Present NABUCCO, 4/6-17

Giuseppe Verdi's opera classic NABUCCO - about Babylonian Jews in exile during Biblical times - will be presented April 6 to 17 at the Center for Jewish History (15 W. 16 St.) in Manhattan, it has been announced by the American Sephardi Federation, which is presenting a trio of Sephardic-themed production for the first time ever this year in its celebration of Sephardic history and culture.  NABUCCO follows the Center's acclaimed adaptation of MERCHANT OF VENICE earlier this year, and will be followed by a revival of OTHELLO in June. Backed by his faithful sidekick, Sancho Panza, Don Quixote pursues his quest for the Impossible Dream. He is a man who sees good and innocence in a world filled with darkness and despair.
