Edward Kleban was the Tony-winning lyricist for the Broadway classic, A CHORUS LINE. Upon his death in 1978, a trunkful of songs from never-produced musicals was found by his friends and A CLASS ACT was born. Featuring songs in the classic-Broadway style and characters from his life including his A CHORUS LINE writing partner, Marvin Hamlisch and the show's creator, Buffalo's own Michael Bennett, A CLASS ACT tells the story of a remarkable man and the ups and downs of his life and career in the theatre.

Though this show has often been met with controversy throughout its history, the U.S. national tour currently hitting East Lansing does its best to portray the Vietnam War as honestly as possible.

The Utah Symphony under Music Director Thierry Fischer launches a recording cycle of works by French composer Camille Saint-Saëns on Hyperion Records. This three-volume set will be the first complete, commercial recording of the composer's five symphonies by an American orchestra, as well as the orchestra's first recording project with the independent British label. Volume 1 is released on Friday, December 28 and comprises Symphony No. 3 in C minor (“Organ”), featuring Paul Jacobs; “Danse Bacchanale” from Act III of the composer's opera Samson et Dalila; and Trois tableaux symphoniques d'après La foi, based on the composer's incidental music for a play by Eugène Brieux. This October, 1,000 singers from across New York City's five boroughs will come together on the High Line for the premiere performances of The Mile-Long Opera: a biography of 7 o'clock. Due to overwhelming demand for tickets to the previously announced performances (October 3-7), an encore performance will be added on October 8.Tickets for this additional night will be made available first to members of the public currently on the waitlist, on a first come, first served basis, beginning Thursday, September 27, at noon.
