Sonoma Arts Live just added a second Broadway hit to its Women Who Dare season - first EVITA, which ran to sold- out audiences in January, and now ANN, written by Holland Taylor and starring Hollywood actress Libby Villari. ANN will run on the Rotary Stage in Andrews Hall, Sonoma Community Center, as a benefit for Sonoma Arts Live May 17,18,19, 20 and 21.

Jason Forbach, who was recently featured in the Broadway revival of Les Miserables and Phoenix Best who made her Broadway debut in The Color Purple will star in this summer's production of Evita at Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival.

Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival announced today that Broadway, film and television actor Dan Domenech will star as Che in Evita this summer at Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival. The production opens the Festival's 26th season.

Earlier this month, Broadway's high-heeled hit, Kinky Boots, which opened on April 4, 2013 and has played more than 1500 performances, surpassed Evita to become the 50th longest-running Broadway show of all time. That's not all the show has to celebrate. “We came up with this pitch that alliterates,” says Maine State Music Theatre's Managing Director Stephanie Dupal of the theatre's description of their upcoming 2016 summer season. “Relive the romance of Ghost; feel the fire of Evita; welcome the warmth of Fiddler; and experience the excitement of Mama Mia,” she recites. Joined by Artistic Director Curt Dale Clark, the pair is talking about their plans for their main stage productions and the various new initiatives this dynamic team has launched since taking the helm of the company's leadership in 2013. By all accounts it is to be a season to surpass even the excellence of the prior ones!

The Broadway @ NOCCA series first launched in early 2013 when it made the leap from its now famous summer home at The Art House in Provincetown, MA. In this, the series' fourth season in New Orleans, the star-powered tradition continues with Michael Cerveris, 2015 Tony winner for "Fun Home" on December 14 at 7:30 PM.

By far, my largest collection of non-English cast CDs consists of Japanese cast recordings, many of which were released by Gekidan Shiki (Shiki Theatre Company). Over the last five decades, Shiki has mounted Japanese-language productions of Applause (1972), Jesus Christ Superstar (1973), West Side Story (1974), A Chorus Line (1979), Evita (1982), Cats (1983), The Phantom of the Opera (1988), Crazy For You (1993), Beauty and the Beast (1995), The Lion King (1998), Aspects of Love (1999), Mamma Mia! (2002), Aida (2003), The Little Mermaid (2013), The Sound of Music (2013), Wicked (2013) and Aladdin (2015).

The Drama Desk and Obie Award-winning Keen Company will present a one night only concert to benefit the company: Tony Award and Grammy Award-nominated composer and lyricist ANDREW LIPPA will be joined by Christina DeCicco (Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark, Evita), Adam Kantor (The Last Five Years, Rent, Avenue Q), and Christiane Noll (Ragtime, Jekyll & Hyde) and in a unique one night only concert, We're Keen on Andrew Lippa.
