The national tour of 9 to 5: the Musical will launch in Nashville this September, setting the stage for one of the most varied Broadway seasons in the history of the Tennessee Performing Arts Center as it celebrates its 30th anniversary.
Signature Theatre Company has announced the final production for their 20th Anniversary 2010-2011 Season, celebrating the work of Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winner Tony Kushner. Joining the previously announced first New York Revival of Parts 1 and 2 of ANGELS IN AMERICA: A GAY FANTASIA ON NATIONAL THEMES and the New York premiere of THE INTELLIGENT HOMOSEXUAL'S GUIDE TO CAPITALISM AND SOCIALISM WITH A KEY TO THE SCRIPTURES will be THE ILLUSION, Kushner's freely adapted version of Pierre Corneille's L'Illusion Comique, directed by Tony Award-winner Michael Mayer. The production will be presented in Spring, 2011 at the Peter Norton Space, (555 West 42nd Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues). Dates and casting will be announced at a later date.
Roundabout Theatre Company has just announced that Everyday Rapture, starring Sherie Rene Scott will open at the American Airlines Theatre in place of the indefinitely postponed Lips Together, Teeth Apart. The critically acclaimed musical by Dick Scanlan & Sherie Rene Scott is directed by Michael Mayer.
The New York Times is reporting that the Off-Broadway hit Yank! is now Broadway-bound for the 2010-2011 theatre season. No details on the theatre, schedule or if the cast would remain in tact were announced for the move, which is said to be budgeted at $5 million dollars.

Following Sunday night's Olivier Awards, a rush of Tweets wondered if Spring Awakening might be revived due to its success. Decca Broadway has announced the official release of the forthcoming Original Cast Recording from The Addams Family. The new musical is based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams, and will open Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, with previews underway now. The disc will be available everywhere in June 2010.
