As BroadwayWorld reported last week, acclaimed actor and director Brian Murray, who worked extensively on and off Broadway for more than fifty years, passed away from natural causes at the age of 80.

Announcing well-known playwright Dennis Danziger, after over three decades away from the stage, returns completing Act Two "Home Plate," along with his original one act play "Pennant Fever,"written 30 plus years earlier. The two-act play titled "DOUBLE PLAY"with a fascinating history is absolutely beautiful and hilarious. The show will premiere October 5 - 28, 2018, at The Stephanie Feury Theatre.

Write Out Loud - an organization founded in 2007 with a commitment to inspire, challenge and entertain by reading literature aloud for a live audience presents The American West, the final production in their American Season XI, a season that focuses on American stories by American authors. Write Out Loud Story Concerts bring literature to life - aloud - with rehearsed readings by professional actors. Each program explores specific themes by weaving a variety of stories and poems together into a literary tapestry. Defibrillator and Arcola Theatre, today announces cast for world stage premiere of Mike Bartlett's, Not Talking. Artistic Director of Defibrillator James Hillier directs David Horovitch (James), Gemma Lawrence (Amanda), Kika Markham (Lucy) and Lawrence Walker (Mark). The production opens at the Arcola Theatre on 1 May, with previews from the 25 April, and runs until 2 June.

Sherlock star Amanda Abbington and Sunset Boulevard leading man Danny Mac are the first stars to be announced for the UK premiere of the musical A Little Princess by Tony-nominated composer/lyricist Andrew Lippa (Big Fish,The Addams Family, The Wild Party).

Based on the remarkable true story of two warring Allied meteorologists tasked with predicting the weather conditions for the D-Day landings, David Haig's critically acclaimed play Pressure will transfer to the West Ends' Ambassador's Theatre for a limited season from 6 June to 1 September 2018. The transfer follows a celebrated run at Chichester Festival Theatre (5 stars from the; Daily Telegraph, Observer & Evening Standard), a national tour (in association with Cambridge Arts Theatre and Touring Consortium Company) and a sold out run at the Park Theatre.

The Art of the Score, exploring some of the most distinctive uses of music in film, will return for its fifth season with Amadeus: Live, the New York Premiere screening of Amadeus with the Mozart-centered score performed live to the complete film. Conducted by Richard Kaufman in his Philharmonic debut and featuring Musica Sacra, directed by Kent Tritle, Amadeus: Live will take place Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at 7:30 p.m.; Thursday, April 12 at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, April 13 at 11:00 a.m.; Saturday, April l4 at 7:30 p.m.; and Tuesday, April 17 at 7:30 p.m. On April 11 actor Alec Baldwin - Philharmonic Board Member and Artistic Advisor of The Art of the Score - and special guest F. Master storyteller Mike Daisey returns to Philadelphia Theatre Company with two new monologues that explore the normalization of Trump's administration and the rise and fall of the press. In the follow-up to critical smash The Trump Card, This Is Not Normal (November 9-11th) addresses the fever gripping all of us and how quickly that fever can become fascism. In The End of Journalism (November 10-11th), Daisey explores how journalism as we know it in America has ended, peeling back layers of real and fake news to find the darkly hilarious truth. Daisey's performances are part of PTC's 2017-2018 festival-style theatre season that includes plays, music, comedy and political commentary. Daisey is the third national voice at PTC this fall, following NPR's Bob Garfield and Golden Globe Winner Kathleen Turner. Normal and Journalism will take place at Philadelphia Theatre Company at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre (480 S. Broad Street).
