The National Theatre has announced 15 productions of new plays and fresh adaptations by leading writers.

The specific highs and lows---and all the cloudy, uneasy details in between---of a failed relationship are all picked apart and analyzed by a pair of distressed former lovers in British playwright David Hare's absorbing 1995 play SKYLIGHT, currently on stage at Anaheim's Chance Theater through May 19, 2019. Directed with an appealing yet captivating casualness by Chance Theater's own artistic director Oanh Nguyen, this excellent, beautifully-acted new local revival of the Olivier and Tony Award-winning drama focuses on a pair of deeply flawed individuals who have been trying their best to move on separately with their respective lives despite the deep scars that continue to haunt them. After three years apart, could a resuscitation of their past relationship be the key to put them both back in the right frame of mind again---or is their love unsalvageable?

When it comes to developing a loyal fan base, Troubadour Theater Company has found the secret: do outstanding work, stay true to your aesthetic, and give the people what they want - a great time at the theater. Artistic Director Matt Walker started the troupe and, with the help of longtime friend and foil, Beth Kennedy, continues to lead his merry band into the great theatrical unknown. Next up for the company is JULIUS WEEZER, which combines Shakespeare's JULIUS CAESAR and the music of Weezer to tell its tale of political intrigue Troubie style. Acoustic duo Hannah Sanders and Ben Savage will perform at the Spotlight Cafe at the Capitol Center for the Arts (Concord, NH) on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at 7:30PM. This performance is made possible in part by Cambridge Trust Company of New Hampshire, The Rowley Agency, and Rath Young Pignatelli.

Hennepin Theatre Trust announced the return of RIVERDANCE with a brand new 25TH ANNIVERSARY SHOW filled with extraordinary music and dance. The stirring re-invention of the beloved favorite comes to the historic State Theatre (805 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis) Friday, Jan. 31, 2020 to Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020. Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) announces the Spring 2019 season of dance, theater, music, and multimedia presentations, running January 30 through May 30. A complete lineup of BAC Residencies-to be announced in January-will provide residencies to artists across disciplines to create new works of dance, theater, music, and multimedia.  

The inherent problem with trying to craft a book musical around a score made of previously-existing hit songs is that the lyrics rarely match the character/situation specifics enough to keep the story moving. So film director/screenwriter Amy Heckerling tries finagling around that challenge in the new musical based on her 1995 coming-of-age romantic comedy, CLUELESS.

Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF), the independent, not-for-profit affiliate of SDC, Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, today announced unique plans for its 2019 award evening, which will feature original choreographic pieces resulting from a special commissioning program, with the application period now open. SDCF also announced that Victoria Traube would receive a special 'Mr. Abbott' Award at the event, to be held March 25 at the French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF).

In recognition of their sustained and valued connection with the Edinburgh Fringe, Teatr Biuro Podro?y have today been awarded the Herald Archangel Award. After first performing at the Fringe in 1995 with Carmen Funebre, it is especially fitting that the award comes to the company this year as they return with the piece to the Pleasance at EICC alongside its new partner piece Silence.

Fort Worth Opera proudly announced today the news that distinguished author, cultural critic, and academic Margo Jefferson will deliver a keynote lecture on The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess at Bass Performance Hall, Saturday, April 27, as part of the opening weekend of the 2019 Fort Worth Opera Festival. Winner of the 1995 Pulitzer Prize in Criticism for her work at The New York Times, Jefferson's essays and reviews have appeared in numerous publications such as The Guardian, Harper's, The Scholar, and New York Magazine.

The Joffrey Ballet has received a $5 million endowment gift from the Paul Galvin Memorial Foundation Trust in honor of Mary B. Galvin, a long-time supporter and Board Director of the Joffrey, to establish The Mary B. Galvin Artistic Director position. The gift will be distributed in two installments of $2.5 million over the next two years. Effective immediately, Ashley Wheater will assume the title of The Mary B. Galvin Artistic Director. The Galvin Foundation gift is the largest single endowment gift in Joffrey history, and the first to name a position at the Joffrey.

Vencl Dance returns to Graham Center of Contemporary Dance June 21-23 with 'Critical Junctures,' an evening of contemporary modern dance by Susan Vencl with music by Arlene Sierra. The concert premiers 'Intersections,' a 35 minute sextet, and presents a 33 minute reconstruction of Vencl's 2016 meditation on randomness and unpredictability, 'Long Before Afterward.'

The 147-year-old Goodall Mansion in Sanford will have a whole new form of life inside its 18 rooms this summer. Until now, this historical important structure in the heart of downtown has basically housed only many generations of Goodalls, the family largely responsible for the growth of Sanford in the 20th Century.

Asolo Rep's Education department proudly presents Kaleidoscope: Wheels of a Dream on Monday, May 14 at 6pm in the Mertz Theatre, on the set of Asolo Rep's May production of Ragtime. The performance is the culmination of this season's Kaleidoscope, an award-winning annual program founded by Broadway veteran Ann Morrison in 1995, which serves individuals with special needs from local community organizations and schools to discover creative and personal expression through performance. 

Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) presents the American premiere of Link Link Circus, written and performed by the Golden Globe-nominated actress and filmmaker Isabella Rossellini, for seven performances only, May 16-23, 2018, at BAC's Jerome Robbins Theater (450 W. 37th Street, Manhattan). Following Rossellini's widely acclaimed theatrical lecture Green Porno (adapted from the celebrated Sundance Channel series of the same name), which explored the sexual behavior of animals, Link Link Circus addresses the latest scientific discoveries about animal minds, intelligence, and emotions.

dick clark productions and NBC today announced nominees for the "2018 Billboard Music Awards," which will honor the year's most successful artists in 57 categories of music.  Kendrick Lamar, Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran lead the pack with 15 nominations each, followed by Post Malone with 13, Imagine Dragons with 11, Drake with 9 and Justin Bieber and Cardi B with 8. The "2018 Billboard Music Awards" will broadcast LIVE coast to coast from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 20 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on NBC.
