Essential viewing for lovers of great theatre, and a master class for other actors.

When 'Next to Normal' premiered in Norway back in 2010 it was the very first production to open after the original on Broadway a year and half prior. It was not a replica production, but mimicked it in a lot of ways. It had the three floor structure, endless amount of lightbulbs in the ceilings. This revival, that opened at Lørenskog Hus last Friday, is anything but a replica.

You can skip the commute and check out the acclaimed series Jazz at Lincoln Center at the Morris Museum instead for two great shows. First up is saxophonist, Sherman Irby on Thursday, August 12 at 8:00 pm.

In 1941 two leading physicists secretly met in Nazi-occupied Denmark to discuss the race between Hitler and the allies to create the nuclear bomb. These men were Werner Heisenberg, a German working on Hitler's bomb programme, and his old mentor Niels Bohr, a half-Jewish Dane with links to the United States’ nuclear programme. First seen in 1998, Michael Frayn’s fascinating but ultimately frustrating play, Copenhagen, explores several possibilities of what may have happened between the men.

The Laramie Project, by Moisés Kaufman and the members of Tectonic Theater Project, will be performed outside at the South Road Farm in Fayette this July.  What makes The Laramie Project unique for the theatre is its minimalistic set and true-to-story setting, helping to drive home this powerful production.

More than 375 business and arts leaders were on hand on Thursday, August 27 for the premiere of the Howard County Arts Council's 23rd Annual Celebration of the Arts in Howard County. Presented by Howard Bank, the benefit gala was held virtually due to the COVID-19 public health crisis and netted approximately $70,000. West Valley Arts will present Footloose, running March 12-28, 2020 at Harman Theatre. With a stellar, local cast, Footloose will have audiences dancing in their seats.
