Shattered Globe Theatre has announced its 22nd Season, to be performed in its new artistic home as a resident theatre company at Chicago's Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont Ave. The 2013-14 Season kicks off this fall with Jerry Sterner's provocative play OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY, directed by Victory Gardens Artistic Director Emeritus Dennis Zacek. In the winter, SGT presents six-time Tony Award nominee and Olivier Award winner OUR COUNTRY'S GOOD by Timberlake Wertenbaker, directed by SGT Artistic Director Roger Smart. The season concludes in the spring with Sally Nemeth's searing drama MILL FIRE, directed by Sandy Shinner. From South Africa comes a stage adaptation of 'Sacred Elephant,' the epic poem by Heathcote Williams, performed by Jeremy Crutchley, a multi award-winning actor of stage and screen, and directed by Geoffrey Hyland. 'Sacred Elephant' is the first of four world-famous, influential poems Williams has written on environmental causes. It was followed by 'Whale Nation' (1988), 'Falling for a Dolphin' (1990) and 'Autogeddon' (1991). Sheer Nerve Productions, in association with BuyArt and Cockpit, will present the American premiere of the work September 4 to 22 as part of the Summer Shares at La MaMa, 74A East Fourth Street.

Irish Repertory Theatre welcomes Mary McCann, recently seen in BLUEBIRD at Atlantic Theatre Company where she is a founding member, and Paul O'Brien, previously seen at Irish Repertory Theater in MAN AND SUPERMAN, to the cast of THE WEIR by Conor McPherson, beginning July 16. People's Light will name the Main Stage Theatre in honor of Leonard C. Haas, in recognition of his long term generosity and service as a trustee and resident company member at the Theatre. Most recently, at the recommendation of Mr. Haas, the Wyncote Foundation has made a significant contribution to the Theatre's Keystone Campaign and Endowment Fund, which will be meaningful for years to come.
William H. Macy and Virginia Madsen have boarded the film, directed by Anna Mastro, as well as Peter Facinelli and Andrew J. West (who played the title role in the 2010 short film.) Milo Ventimiglia, Neve Campbell, and Leven Rambin also star.

In conjunction with its production of Tadeusz Slobodzianek's Our Class, PICT Theatre has coordinated a panel discussion that includes noted historian Jan T. Gross, author of the book Neighbors, which revealed that the killing of up to 1600 Jews in Jedwabne, Poland in 1941 was perpetrated by their own neighbors and not the Germans. The play Our Class tells the story of 10 classmates who betray one another as Soviet and Nazi regimes invade their village.

This two-person, two-act play is a 1978 Pulitzer Prize winner and garnered multiple Tony Award nominations both with its original 1977 production and the Broadway revival in 1997. This play replaces the originally planned production of The Invisible Hand by Ayad Akhtar.

As 2012 comes to a close, many Austin theater companies are putting together their 2013-2014 season. Given the incredible talent in this town and the large number of daring, courageous theater groups in the Austin area, here are my picks for 13 musicals that I'd love to see produced in the 2013-2014 season.
