The feature film adaptation of Paul Schoulberg's short story WALTER has lined up its leading cast, according to Deadline.

William H. Macy and Virginia Madsen have boarded the film, directed by Anna Mastro, as well as Peter Facinelli and Andrew J. West (who played the title role in the 2010 short film.) Milo Ventimiglia, Neve Campbell, and Leven Rambin also star.

The film follows a young man (West) who has come to believe he's the son of God - and that each person's destiny rests in his hands. "Life becomes even more complicated when a mysterious figure appears who forces Walter to examine the true meaning of life."

Production on WALTER is now underway.

Macy appeared on Broadway in the 2008 revival of Speed-the-Plow. Huffman starred in the same play off-Broadway in 1988. Macy also starred in the 1988 Broadway revival of Our Town. Macy originated roles in several of David Mamet's plays, such as The Water Engine and American Buffalo, in which he also starred in the London revival. Macy's off-Broadway credits include Baby With the Bathwater, The Dining Room, Life During Wartime, Mr. Gogol and Mr. Preen, Bodies, Rest and Motion, and Mamet's Prarie du Chen, Oh Hell, and Oleanna. His film credits include Fargo, Magnolia, and Pleasantville. He currently stars in Showtime's Shameless.

Madsen most recently has appeared on AMC's HELL ON WHEELS as a recurring character. She has also starred in SIDEWAYS and THE NUMBER 23.
