OSF Receives $80,000 NEA Grant for All-Female Production of THE TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) has been awarded an $80,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to support the 2014 production of The Two Gentlemen of Verona. OSF is one of 886 nonprofit organizations nationwide to receive an NEA Art Works grant, which will help fund 38 performances as well as surrounding education and audience engagement events for William Shakespeare's comedy of young male bonding and betrayal, which OSF will present with an all-female cast. National Endowment for the Arts Awards $2.7 Million to U.S. Theater Nonprofits

National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Acting Chairman Joan Shigekawa announced today that the NEA plans to award $74.85 million in 971 grants to nonprofit organizations nationwide as part of the second half of its fiscal year 2014 funding. ESPN's presentation of the 2014 NCAA Division I Men's Frozen Four - two semifinals on Thursday, April 10 on ESPN2 and the championship game on Saturday, April 12 on ESPN - averaged 471,000 viewers, a strong 56 percent increase over the 2013 Men's Frozen Four (301,000 viewers). The Frozen Four Championship Game, in which Union College defeated the University of Minnesota for its first NCAA Men's Division I Ice Hockey National Championship, averaged 717,000 viewers, a 33 percent increase over 2013's Division I Frozen Four Championship Game which featured Yale defeating Quinnipiac (539,000).
