Virginia Repertory Theatre announces the opening of Mary Poppins on Friday, November 17, 2017, at the November Theatre/Arenstein Stage, 114 West Broad Street. The show will run through December 31, 2017. Previews will run for two nights on Wednesday, November 15 and Thursday, November 16, 2017.

Stage and screen legend Julie Andrews is hard at work on a new project. The beloved star just revealed to News.com.au that she is writing a second autobiography (the first, Home: A Memoir of My Early Years, was released in 2008).

Disney/Cameron Mackintosh's stage adaptation of MARY POPPINS, the closing production of Musical Theatre West's 64th season is mostly jolly good fun. I recall with reverence the illustrated cover of the original cast album of MY FAIR LADY by the acclaimed caricaturist, the late Al Hirschfeld (who has a Broadway theater named in his honor). It featured the author of 'Pygmalion' which MY FAIR LADY is based on, George Bernard Shaw, overlooking a cloud in heaven with puppet strings holding up the two lead characters in the show, Henry Higgins and Eliza Doolittle, It's a true classic. So was the original cast which opened on Broadway in 1956 and starred Julie Andrews and Rex Harrison and later became a smash movie with Harrison and Audrey Hepburn in 1964. I recall having a reserved seat ticket for the film.

During her recent appearance on THE TONIGHT SHOW, actress Julie Andrews revealed the complicated and messy way they filmed the iconic opening hilltop scene in THE SOUND OF MUSIC. 'We were out there for ages because the weather was not kind to us,' revealed the legendary star.

It's yet another opening night at The Larry Keeton Theatre in Donelson, as co-directors Jamie London and Noah Rice unveil the company's latest: Mary Poppins the Musical. Featuring a cast of more than 40 actors, it's the last production of The Keeton's 2016-17 season.
