Based on a conception of Sherman Edwards

The Tony Award winning musical 1776 is based on the events leading up to the drafting and signing of the Declaration of Independence. John Adams, disliked by many in Congress, joins Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson to bring forward a resolution for independence that will eventually set America free from England's tyranny. Powerful performances by a cast of 25, and an impeccably crafted script make 1776 as relevant today as it was when first written. 1776 delivers a riveting evening of theatre filled with history, humor, heart and romance.

BWW Album Review: Raise a Glass to SPAMILTON
by Remy Holzer - Apr 27, 2017

One would have to have a heart of stone not to like Lin-Manuel Miranda. No, love Lin-Manuel Miranda. He is not only tremendously talented but one of the most endearing figures on Broadway. Devoted to his wife, son, and parents; committed to raising money for worthy causes; a pop-singing child, a FIDDLER ON THE ROOF-dancing groom, and an endlessly versatile professional; author of Disney's latest girl-power anthem; Tweeter of endless kind words to his fans and the general public...how could Gerard Alessandrini, the impresario behind FORBIDDEN BROADWAY, hold him up for mockery, making 'Lin-Manuel as Hamilton' the subject of his latest spoof, SPAMILTON? Well, the monolith called HAMILTON has a life of its own, and with its well-deserved status as not just a Broadway sensation but an American cultural landmark comes an invitation to parody. NAKED LUNCH: THE MUSICAL Comes to St. Sebastian Players Theatre
by BWW News Desk - Apr 20, 2017

Like many undergraduates at Yale University in the mid-1960s, Bill Hannay was fond of avant garde literature, especially if it tested people's commitment to the constitutional principle of freedom of expression. He followed, for example, the obscenity trials over the publication of the novel Naked Lunch underway in Los Angeles and Boston. The latter turned out to one of the last landmark decisions on obscenity in the 20th Century. Hannay's passion for the law led him to a career as an attorney, and he has been a partner at Chicago's Schiff Hardin LLP for 30 years, but another life-long passion - for the theater - never waned, either.
