Seattle Repertory Theatre is pleased to announce that, due to overwhelming popular demand, the runaway hit musical Come From Away will be extended with nine additional performances, running through December 20. Ticket are available now at www.seattlerep.org, (206) 443-2222 and the Seattle Rep box office. Tickets for the extension dates will go on sale Monday, November 30 at 10 a.m.

Come From Away is both a critical and popular success, Misha Berson of The Seattle Times wrote: "'Come From Away' is an especially timely, meaningful balm to the benumbed psyche." And Stephen Hegg of KCTS 9 called the show "A brilliant and uncommon mixture of music, compassion, hope and humor," while many reviewing critics and fans alike have named it the best piece of theatre in Seattle all year.

Come From Away has broken the all-time Seattle Repertory Theatre record for single-ticket sales in a 24-hour period. Not only did it beat the 2001 record set by Lily Tomlin's The Search for Intelligent Life in the Universe, it beat the combined daily sale for last year's mega-hits, Robert Schenkkan's political dramas, All The Way and The Great Society- and then it broke the record the next day and the day after that.

Come From Away is written by Irene Sankoff and David Hein and directed by Christopher Ashley, and is presented by Seattle Repertory Theatre in association with La Jolla Playhouse.

An original, folk rock-infused world-premiere musical, Come From Away is based on a a true story. September 11, 2001 was an ordinary day in isolated Gander, Newfoundland - until it wasn't. Thirty-eight planes were diverted to its doorstep on that fateful day, making this small town unexpected hosts to an international community. The camaraderie that followed reminds us for the power that comes from opening up your heart and your home.
