At its July meeting, the San Jose Stage Company Board of Directors elected new officers to serve for the 2014/15 season.

Dennis Martin was elected President of the Board, replacing Board veteran Jerry Strangis. Martin is a former Chair of the San Jose Arts Commission and Managing Director of NAIOP Silicon Valley. Strangis will remain on the Board and lead the Company's Capital Campaign efforts devoted to the purchase and renovation of the Stage theater facility at 490 South First Street.

Also named to executive officer positions for the coming year were Jason O. St. Claire, Associate Vice President at Morgan Stanley, as Board Vice President, and Vince Rivero, President of VER Consultants, as Board Secretary/Treasurer.

Martin, a San Jose State graduate and theater veteran who has acted and directed for the Stage Company in the past, stated that he is looking forward to the challenges ahead.

"We have a terrific base of support here in Downtown San Jose. Our audiences have been wonderfully loyal and supportive of the kind of high quality, cutting edge theatre in which the Stage Company specializes," Martin stated.

"With the unfortunate loss of San Jose Repertory Theatre, The Stage is now the sole equity professional theatre company in the South Bay," said Martin.

San Jose Stage Company has extended an offer to redeem season tickets to 2014/15 season ticket holders for the San Jose Repertory Theatre.

"We believe that Rep audiences will find our season entertaining, thought provoking, and well worth the effort to check us out," added Martin.

Tickets are available at www.thestage.org or by calling the box office at 408.283.7142. Visa and MasterCard are accepted, and discounts are available for groups, students and seniors. The theatre is handicapped accessible.

The Stage is located at 490 South First Street at William Street in downtown San Jose's South First (SoFA) area.
