Luther Burbank Center for the Arts Announces Addition of Acclaimed Storyteller Nicholas Sparks and Tony Bennett

Today, Luther Burbank Center for the Arts (The Center) announced two big additions to its 2016-2017 lineup. In partnership with Copperfield's Books, on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 7 p.m., Sonoma County welcomes one of the most beloved storytellers of all time, acclaimed novelist Nicholas Sparks. The celebrated storyteller makes a stop at The Center on tour with his new work "Two by Two." On Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 8 p.m., the preeminent singer of the 20th and 21st centuries, Tony Bennett, returns to Santa Rosa for one night only on the heels of celebrating his 90th birthday on August 3, 2016.

Tickets for Nicholas Sparks are $40 and include a copy of his new work, "Two by Two." There is also an option to purchase two tickets including one copy of the book for $56. Tickets for Tony Bennett range in price from $89-$149. Pre-sale tickets for both events for members of The Center go on sale Tuesday, August 30 at noon with tickets for the general public going on sale Friday, September 2 at noon. Considered one of the of the world's most beloved storytellers of all time,Nicholas Sparks comes to Sonoma County on tour with his 20th book and newest novel "Two by Two" and in celebration of the 20th anniversary of his heartfelt, smash hit novel, "The Notebook." In his new work, Sparks delivers another complex and emotionally powerful story about the nature of love. All of Sparks' books have been New York Times bestsellers (12 of them #1), with over 105 million copies sold worldwide, in more than 50 languages, including over 75 million copies in the United States alone with 11 of his novels having been made into movies.

No one in popular American music has recorded for so long and at such a high level of excellence than Tony Bennett. In the last ten years alone he has sold ten million records and it is clear that his career as the pre-eminent singer of the 20th and 21st centuries is unprecedented. Tony Bennett is one of a handful of artists to have new albums charting in the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, and now in the first two decades of the 21st century. He has introduced a multitude of songs into the "Great American Songbook" that have since become standards for pop music. He has toured the world to sold out audiences with rave reviews whenever he performs.

Bennett re-signed with Columbia Records in 1986 and released the critically acclaimed "The Art of Excellence." Since his 1991 show-stopping performance at the Grammy Awards of "When Do The Bells Ring For Me," from his "Astoria"album, he has received a string of Grammy Awards for releases including "Stepping Out", "Perfectly Frank" and "MTV Unplugged." Tony Bennett became a Kennedy Center Honoree in 2005, was named an NEA Jazz Master in January of 2006, a recipient of the Citizen of the World award from the United Nations and the Billboard Magazine Century Award in honor of his outstanding contributions to music. He continues to be embraced and loved by audiences of all generations throughout the world.
