American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Young Conservatory Director Craig Slaight announced today that applications for the Summer Session at A.C.T.'s acclaimed Young Conservatory for children and teens between the ages of 8 and 19 are now available. With an impressive list of alums currently impacting American stage, screen, and television, the Young Conservatory summer program features a wide variety of dynamic courses for both beginners exploring acting for the first time as well as young actors with previous experience. With 1-, 2- and 4-week sessions available, A.C.T.'s Young Conservatory Summer Program is a unique and engaging alternative to traditional summer camps. Following A.C.T.'s acclaimed Master of Fine Arts program, A.C.T.'s Young Conservatory is an internationally recognized professional theater training program for young people. Young actors from throughout the world come to the Young Conservatory to develop their creative talent and to grow as young artists. Classes at the Young Conservatory are designed to develop imagination, concentration, character, professionalism, self-confidence and technique, and to strengthen the student's command of his and her body and voice. By training at the Young Conservatory, students gain the creative and communication skills to succeed in high school, college and beyond!

The A.C.T. Young Conservatory offers a broad range of theater training throughout the year for young people aged 8 to 19. The ten cabarets and four public productions offered throughout the year are designed to develop talent and creativity, as well as communication and cooperation skills, for young people with all levels of theater background. Working professional actors and directors lead students in a spectrum of classes, including acting, directing, voice and speech, musical theater, audition, and improvisation.
