Formed in 2010 by husband-and-wife Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, and featuring two harmony singers, a three-piece horn section, keyboards, bass and a pair of drummers, the roots-rock powerhouse Tedeschi Trucks Band (TTB) has toured the globe extensively, headlining the venerable Newport Jazz Festival, co-headlining tours with B.B. King and The Black Crowes, and playing to packed houses in the world's most celebrated venues in a show that the Boston Herald says, "booms like a soul thunderclap." TTB's debut release Revelator, produced at the couple's Swamp Raga home studio, earned both a Grammy and Blues Music Award. Currently, the band is touring in support of its second studio effort, Made up Mind, which entered the Billboard 200 at #11, and was hailed by Rolling Stone as "equal parts Stax and Muscle Shoals without dilution of either."
Celtic Woman celebrates the holiday season with Home for Christmas-The Symphony Tour, an unparalleled musical experience, with Celtic Woman performing timeless holiday songs accompanied by a full symphony orchestra. The concert features music from the all-female music ensemble's second Christmas album, Home for Christmas and their brand new live concert DVD, Home for Christmas: Live from Dublin. Since their 2005 debut on Public Television, Irish sensation Celtic Woman has emerged as both a spectacular commercial success and a genuine cultural phenomenon, selling more than nine million copies of its releases around the world, achieving platinum-level sales in nine countries, and performing for nearly three million fans worldwide including the White House and high-profile shows such as Dancing with the Stars.
The acclaimed San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus (SFGMC) has been shining brightly for more than 37 years and has performed over 1,000 concerts at iconic venues such as Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall, the San Francisco War Memorial, the historic Castro Theater, Walt Disney Concert Hall and world-renowned Carnegie Hall. The San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus: Home for the Holidays! celebration is a festive evening featuring the traditional favorites along with new works including a stunning world premiere by Ola Gjeilo, one of the America's most prominent contemporary composers with appearances by Santa, his elves and reindeer, a 1980s nativity scene and an ugly sweater parade.
In the spirit of the season, a portion of the proceeds from the concert will also benefit Sonoma's own Face to Face www.f2f.org working to end HIV in Sonoma County and support those living with HIV/AIDS.
With 19 performers on stage, including six singer-dancers, In the Mood is a fully staged tribute to Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Sinatra and the big band greats of the '40s. Complete with period costumes and choreography, the show includes performances of the up-tempo big band rhythms and classic ballads that pay homage to America's greatest generation who fought in WWII. Featuring musical arrangements written by Vic Schoen, conductor and arranger for The Andrews Sisters, and Music Director for Universal and Paramount Pictures, In the Mood showcases the swing, the rhythm, and the jazzy, brassy, sentimental and patriotic music of this pivotal time in America's history.
