San Diego Musical Theatre's NEXT TO NORMAL cast members, Robert J. Townsend and Bets Malone, accompanied by Rayme Sciaromi, performed songs on September 4th at "A Night Out for Trevor" for the San Diego Ambassadors for the Trevor Project at Martini's on Fourth Table & Stage. Founded in 1998 by the creators of the Academy Award®-winning short film TREVOR, The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people ages 13-24.

San Diego Musical Theatre presents Next to Normal September 26-October 12 at the North Park Theatre. NEXT TO NORMAL is Directed by Nick Degruccio with Musical Direction by Don LeMaster.

NEXT TO NORMAL tells the story of a mother, Diana Goodman, who struggles with bipolar disorder and the effect that her illness has on her family. This contemporary musical is an emotional powerhouse that addresses such issues as grieving a loss, ethics in modern psychiatry, and suburban life. With provocative lyrics and a thrilling score, this musical shows how far two parents will go to keep themselves sane and their family's world intact. Mature content and language.

Single tickets for SDMT's production of NEXT TO NORMAL are $26.00, $36.00, $46.00 and $56.00. Children 16 years and under receive a $10 discount. Seniors 65 years and older receive a $5.00 discount.
