Broadwayworld Award nominee John DeGaetano, brings his theatre work to Santa Rosa as Artistic Director of North Bay Stage Company, a new resident theatre company of Wells Fargo Center for the Arts. DeGaetano is known for his success in locally staged ambitious productions of such as Evita, Chicago, and Cats to name a few.

Stepping into the role of producing Artistic Director, a new title for a new company, DeGaetano will oversee productions for the stage company, along with a soon-to-be-completed season "extras" as he puts it. The plan is to stage several events over the next year in a few venues within the complex - the first of which is a Grand Gala April 24th designed to introduce the 2014-15 season and Cabaret the Musical set to open July 25th. Tickets for both events are available at Wells Fargo Center for the Arts website. Auditions for Cabaret: are set for April 20th and 21st and information is posted on their website.

DeGaetano served for many years as President of the Raven Players artistic group in Healdsburg and managed over 40 productions. Having worked with the creative team directly on over a dozen Sonoma County productions in addition to New York City and London shows, in his new role he will also serve as Vice President of the board of directors for the Stage Company.

Concurrently, DeGaetano hopes to ramp up the commercial offerings - comedy shows, musicals, new works and dance - that have been the bread and butter of many performing arts groups in years past but a bit differently though, as he states. "I'm extremely excited to be making the move to Santa Rosa as the kids on a new block... so-to-speak," said DeGaetano in a recent statement. "The company will be a community focus and the mission of North Bay Stage Company will be to capture enthusiasm and to believe in performing... that there's place in our productions for everyone.

"North Bay Stage Company (NBSC) is a not-for-profit organization presenting new, classic and contemporary theatre works with a commitment to challenging and entertaining our diverse community."
