There's nothing Mark Pulham loves more than the holiday season. The beloved veteran storyteller, puppeteer, musician, singer and actor has been spreading cheer around the valley for years. He'll be decking the halls - and the stage - at SCERA with a holiday puppet show he's entitled "Sumppin' For Christmas." This will be his third annual Christmas show at SCERA, and each year features a brand new hour of fun.

Filled with puppets, stories and song, Pulham will perform "Sumppin' For Christmas" as part of the SCERA Puppet Shop's series of monthly puppet shows. It will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 @ 11:00am at the SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 South State Street in Orem. Tickets are only $3.00 for ages 3 and older.

Tickets may be purchased 30 minutes prior to the show at the door, or in advance from 10am-6pm weekdays and Saturdays from 12Noon-6pm at SCERA's main office, by calling (801) 225-ARTS or online at www.scera.org.

Mark retired a few years ago after 30 years as a popular elementary school teacher, where, says SCERA President & CEO Adam J. Robertson, "I'm sure he honed many of the skills needed to capture the attention of children!"

Pulham works and has performed his master puppetry at the Orem Public Library, and is a frequent guest performer at the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival, where he is known for his creative and comical style. Also an accomplished actor, he has played the role of Bob Cratchit for many years at the Hale Center Theater Orem, as well as roles at SCERA including recent Theatre for Young Audiences productions including Mr. Lambchop in "The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, "the Knight in "The Reluctant Dragon" (which featured puppets), and Detective McSmogg/Principal Blandsworth in "Miss Nelson is Missing."

For December's show, Pulham is bringing his favorite book-loving puppet duo, Al Reed and Paige Turner, (now look at their names again...get it?) to the stage. The pair try to explore the many flavors of the holiday season - some sweet, some sour, some traditional, some new, but all of them delightful. Mark titled the show as a spoof of the song "Nuttin' For Christmas," and explains "There's a little 'sumppin' for everyone in the family to enjoy!"

SCERA's Puppet Shop program is under the direction of Nat Reed, and offers puppetry classes for kids, and also serves as host of the annual Utah Puppetry Guild Festival.
