At Transcendence Theatre Company we always talk about our #WellLivedDays because we do a LOT of living!

As Jack London's credo says (and is recited at the beginning of every Broadway Under the Stars performance): "The proper function of man is to live, not to exist." And we are LIVING at Transcendence!!

Transcendence Artist Meggie Cansler shares about some of the LIVING that is happening here in Sonoma. Check it out...

The opening night of our third concert, DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY, has come and gone! The audiences are glowing with the excitement of this tremendous dance show. It was an incredible amount of material in a short time, but our cast is thriving! Click here and check out this incredible review on Talkin' Broadway!

The full company of DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY!

DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY still has two more weekends! Come and play!

You didn't think that was the only thing we were up to right now, did you? Oh no, sweet friends. We have a select group that is working on our upcoming Speakeasy event, Wine Country Speakeasy. (Shhhhhhhh!!)

You will need a password to enter and won't know your location until the day of the show. It will be... drumroll please... in Sonoma... somewhere :)

(You didn't think just because you read my blog you were going to find that out did you?? Silly...)

We began working on our music this week and this show is a very different feel than what Transcendence does with Broadway Under the Stars at Jack London State Historic Park. We sat down around the table with our scripts and music and delved into the history of the 1920's. I felt inspired by the history lesson, and then it sent our minds into creating relationships with each other and how we will be able to make this a full immersive EXPERIENCE throughout the night. It's going to be the cat's pajamas.

Part of my photo shoot for the show, to give you an idea of what we are doing... Pearls and martinis? Who could say no?

I began listening to the music and I am obsessed. I also can't believe that we only get TWO NIGHTS to do this! The selection is incredible. When else would I get to sing "Diamonds are Forever" from James Bond???? Unless I was Val from Broad City :

If you were on the fence about coming to this one, I can guarantee you that it will be the talked about event of the summer. You will have major FOMO. Know what that is? FEAR OF MISSING OUT. When is the last time you were able to be immersed in the 1920s? It will be a full evening of magic, mystery, passwords, cocktails, elegance, secrets, and surprise.

The songs are all in that vein as well. Be it pop music in the style of the 1920s, musicals that came to be in the 1920s, or the musicals that were inspired in that era: the selection is delectable. As is my backless GOWN I get to wear thanks to the incredible costume curator, Janis Snyder of Bella Vita Sonoma. (She is continuing to outdo herself on the Speakeasy costumes...)

This is an evening not to be missed - check out our promo video here:

Come dressed up and be prepared to see a whole new side of Transcendence Theatre Company. But, "Don't tell Mama what you saw. If you see my mummy, mum's the word!" ;)
