Today in the Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre - a special premiere. "Prince Igor" entrusted to open the 100th season of the oldest theater in Yekaterinburg. Conductor People's Artist of Russia Alexander Lazarev said that the premiere of "Prince Igor" was held in 1890 at the Mariinsky Theatre, after the death of Alexander Borodin. His opera was completed by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Alexander Glazunov: "Two of the composer lay down their puzzle of fragments of works by Borodin as they then seemed true. But it is precisely because the opera - not a completed work of authorship, it allows other versions - continued maestro - we follow the logic of action, logic Borodino music. "
Catherine Shakshin, the newspaper "Evening Yekaterinburg"

The orchestra, led by the venerable conductor Alexander Lazarev, reminiscent of the best times of the Bolshoi Theater, where Lazarev stood for his conductor's stand. The local structure of soloists was boosted visitor from the Mariinsky Theatre, worthy Prince Igor in the face of Eden Umerov. The dancers had to wait for longer than usual: "Polovtsian Dances" (choreographer Alexander Tikhomirov) it was decided to put at the very end of the play. Such was the condition Lazarev. He planned to solve the long-standing problem: after dancing, standing at Borodino in the second act, theaters always empty. The relative legitimacy of rewiring, alas - the fault of the Borodin: 18 years of work on the opera, he has not had time to finish his major masterpiece.
