The Irvington Town Hall Theater (ITHT) commission will present the second season of the Stage Door Reading Series. This year, the series is overseen by commissioner Beth Ryan and will have a local spin on it. There will be three events throughout the season where local playwrights will get a chance to cast their works, see and hear them read aloud in front of an audience, and get feedback on their work in a Q&A with the audience afterwards.

Beth and her committee are looking for local playwrights that have a completed play that they would like to submit to be a part of the series. Interested writers can email a pdf copy of the script to Beth at: dayjr@huckleberries.us

"The sooner we get scripts in hand this summer, the better," says Beth. "Our first event will be in October, and we want to be able to choose that work by summer's end in order to give the playwright time to find their cast, rehearse it a few times and then bring it to the Stage Door."

The series will present works in October, January, and April. The committee is open to plays of any themes with smaller casts that should be able to be read in under 90 minutes on stage. The committee will be reading plays through the summer, so playwrights in Westchester and Rockland Counties should get their plays submitted as soon as possible.

"I am very excited to see this series continue," says Theater Manager Greg Allen. "We started with a diverse line-up of writers this past season and I can't wait to see what the committee discovers this year."

The Irvington Town Hall Theater is located at 85 Main Street in Irvington on the 3rd floor of town hall.
