Broadway Training Center of Westchester, one of the region's premier performing arts schools, will present the magical musical "Mary Poppins" November 20-22 at the Irvington Town Hall Theater in Irvington, N.Y. The show will feature BTC's Ensemble program consisting of participants by Entrance Interview and Audition only.

Mary Poppins is one of the most popular Disney movies of all time and it's also practically a perfect musical! An enchanting mixture of irresistible story, unforgettable songs, breathtaking dance numbers, and astonishing stagecraft. "We're delighted to be partnering with Broadway Motion Design on Mary Poppins, which has selected BTC as the host theater for developing the projection design of the show," says director Jason Brantman. "BMD is designing lush backdrops and animations for Mary Poppins, which is an exciting and innovative way of accomplishing the elements of magic and larger than life storytelling that are the backbone of this beautiful theater piece."

Co-Artistic Directors, Jason Brantman and Fiona Santos, often choose material that pushes students to work to the top of their intellect and imagination. In this story, a jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones she has a profound effect upon. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that "Anything can happen if you let it."

BTC's production of Mary Poppins (G rated) will be staged at 7pm on Friday and Saturday, November 20 and 21, and at 3:00 on Sunday, November 22 at the Irvington Town Hall Theater (85 Main Street). The snow date is November 22 at 7:30 pm.
