The five-time Tony Award® nominated musical ROCK OF AGES will launch its New National Tour at the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) October 4 - 9, 2011. Tickets are $66 - $36 and are on sale now at the PPAC Box Office, online at www.ppacri.org and by phone at (401) 421-ARTS (2787).

In 1987 on the Sunset Strip, a small town girl met a big city rocker and in L.A.'s most famous rock club, they fell in love to the greatest songs of the 80's. ROCK OF AGES is a hilarious, feel-good love story told through the hit songs of iconic rockers Journey, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner, Pat Benatar, Whitesnake, and many more. David Cote from Time Out New York said, "Excellent! Rock and comedy in perfect proportion," and Rob Harvilla from The Village Voice said, "The most remarkable Broadway experience I've ever had!" This five-time Tony nominated musical, with a star-studded motion picture in the works, is "rockin' its way across the USA."

ROCK OF AGES is a world-wide phenomenon with smash hit productions in Australia, London, South Korea, and is still "rockin'" on Broadway. The production features 28 classic rock songs, including "Don't Stop Believin'," "We Built This City," "The Final Countdown," Wanted: Dead or Alive," "Here I Go Again," "Harden My Heart," "Can't Fight This Feeling," "Renegade," and "I Want to Know What Love Is."

ROCK OF AGES is directed by Tony Award® Nominee Kristin Hanggi (Bare, Pussycat Dolls on the Sunset Strip) and choreographed by Kelly Devine (Jersey Boys - Associate Choreographer). ROCK OF AGES features a book written by Chris D'Arienzo (writer and director of the film Barry Munday), original arrangements by David Gibbs (Counting Crows, Film: That Thing You Do!), and Music Supervision, Arrangements & Orchestrations by Ethan Popp (Tarzan; Europe: We Will Rock You, Mamma Mia!).

ROCK OF AGES features scenic design by Beowulf Boritt (Spelling Bee, LoveMusik), costume design by Tony® Nominee Gregory Gale (Cyrano, The Wedding Singer), lighting design by Jason Lyons (The Threepenny Opera), sound design by Craig Cassidy (Phantom, Mamma Mia!), and projection design by Zachary Borovay (A Catered Affair).

ROCK OF AGES is produced by Phoenix Entertainment and is sponsored by 38 Studios. ROCK OF AGES kicks off PPAC's 34th Broadway Season October 4 - 9, 2011 and is part of the 2011/2012 Broadway Series.
