Mixed Magic Theatre to Stage Holiday Shows

Mixed Magic Theatre will present both of its two annual Holiday shows on Saturday, December 19th at Hope High School and Honor Distinguished Teachers, Coaches and Alums. The Honors Reception will take place at 2:00 PM in the Hope High Auditorium Lobby.

The 16th Annual A Kwanzaa Song , directed by Ricardo Pitts-Wiley, will be presented at 3:00pm in the Hope High Black Box Theatre immediately following the reception.

The 9th Annual Great Holiday Traditions, directed by Gregory Johnson, will be performed at 7:30 pm , also in the Hope High Black Box Theatre.

At the 2:00 PM Honors Reception, Hope High School's legendary track coaches Kevin Jackson and Thomas Spann, along with drama teacher Anne Colaninno , will be presented awards that commemorate their unique contributions to the community and the students of the school. Other honorees will include dance instructors Sharon Jenkins and Marty Sprague, distinguished Hope Alum Alonzo Jones, longtime drama instructor Christine Auxier, and the late drama coach Franco Coli.

Both of the shows will feature Hope High graduates of the theatre and music programs, including music director/singer/pianist Kim Morrison Pitts-Wiley, singer Pricilla Bento, and actors/singers Alonzo Jones and Amos Hamrick, Jr. The shows lighting designer and stage manager, Alex Ruiz and Natalie Rosario, are also Hope Alum.

The shows will also include singers Jeannie Carson, Danette Briggs, Beverly Fears, Chaarity Williams, Ronnie Young, Skylia Briggs and guitarists Matthew Requintina.

Tickets for the 2 PM honors reception are $35 each , and include admission to either A Kwanzaa Song or Great Holiday Traditions.
