The best music for the best film, played by its creators: conductor Ernst van Tiel and composer Ludovic Bource, winner of an Oscar for best soundtrack for The Artist, a story of overcoming, with music as principal character.
When filmmaker Michel Hazanavicius suggested a silent film in black and white, many took him for a madman. The film in question ended up being hailed as the best of the year, both in Europe and in the U.S., and was worthy of dozens of awards, including five Academy Awards in Hollywood. But the main protagonist of the film is the music, a score that has been recognized with an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA, European Film Award, a Caesar, and above all, it has earned the appreciation of the public that still fills halls around the world to listen. And we remember that one of the team of orchestrators of this soundtrack is Albert Guinovart, ESMUC professor and regular collaborator with the OBC as a pianist and composer. The strength of the great film music in the style of legendary Bernard Hermann (Citizen Kane, Psycho, Taxi Driver), at the service of a story of love and overcoming, with the essential touches of good humour.
