Theatre Raleigh ushers in the 2015 Hot Summer Nights Season with the beloved musical with local ties; Pump Boys and Dinettes, will play at Kennedy Theatre on May 27-June 7 (May 27 Preview Night, May 28 Opening Night). This musical was conceived and written in nearby Chapel Hill, NC by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel, and Jim Wann. This show is rated PG-13

On Highway 57, somewhere between Frog Level and Smyrna, stands a rest stop. Across the blacktop is a roadside eatery called the Double Cupp Diner. The four guys at the gas station, Jim, Jackson, Eddie and L.M., have been known to do some auto repairs, but only when aided by quantities of time, great tunes and a few beers. The Cupp sisters, Prudie and Rhetta, celebrate their home cooking with the same zeal they bring to being neighborly with the boys. This is their musical tribute to life by the roadside!

Tickets are on-sale now- $27 for adults, $25 for seniors/students/military. You can purchase at http://www.theatreraleigh.com

Group discounts are available and can be purchased at Theatre Raleigh Box Office:919-832-9997

Director/Choreographer, Tim Seib promises the highest octane performance this side of Highway 57- featuring Travis Artz* (Jim), Michael Kennedy (Jackson), Jon Skinner (Eddie), and Ethan Andersen (L.M.) as the "Pump Boys"; and Dakota McKay (Prudie Cupp) and Emily Firth* (Rhetta Cupp) as the "Dinettes". Together they fashion an evening of country songs performed on guitars, piano, bass, fiddle, banjo, ukulele and, yes, even kitchen utensils.

Seib has amassed a great compliment of industry bests for Pump Boys and Dinettes including Ethan Andersen (Music Director), Chris Bernier (Scenic Design), Thomas Mauney (Lighting Design), LeGrande Smith (Costume Design), Denise Schumaker (Property Design), Eric Collins (Sound Design), Erin West (Stage Manager) and Kiernan Bastien (Company Manager).

Always with her finger on the pulse of what Triangle theater fans want to see, Lauren Kennedy, Artistic Director of Theatre Raleigh along with her powerhouse team of Leona Taylor (Development Director), Meagan Chieppor (General Office Manager) and Morgan Parpan (Intern Coordinator) come together to present another fantastic season.
