Burning Coal Theatre Company will offer STC 2016, two summer theatre conservatories for teens. These programs are for young people who want an intense, immersive theatre experience in one of the state's most innovative theatres.

STC Jr. is for students entering 6th through 8th grades. Students will work together to create an original play based on characters of their own invention. The program is Monday-Friday from 10am-3pm and runs June 13-24, 2016. The final performance is on June 24 at 6:30pm. Tuition is $245.

STC Sr. is for students entering 9th grad through their freshman year of college. Students will create an exciting production of a classic play, while also taking workshops from some of North Carolina's top theatre professionals. For the first time, students will perform a classic play written by a playwright other than Shakespeare. This year's play is Antigone, an ancient Greek drama about a family torn apart by conflicting morals. The program is Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm and runs July 11-29, 2016. The final performance is July 29 and 30 at 7pm. Tuition is $395. STC Sr. students must schedule an audition prior to the first day of the program in order to determine what role they will play in Antigone.
