Equality Vodka debuted today in recognition and support of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community. The new brand is an ultra premium vodka with a simple agenda: Equality for all. For every bottle purchased, Equality Vodka will make a donation to a nonprofit organization recognized for advancing the equality movement for the LGBT community.

Equality Vodka co-founder Bert Gallagher, Jr., an ardent supporter of LGBT rights, conceived the idea as a way to unite with others and incite change. "It's a fun and easy way to support the LGBT community. Gay or straight, equality knows no borders. 'EQUALITY for all' is a declaration etched into every bottle and a vision I believe in whole-heartedly."

Echoed fellow co-founder Doug Jacobson, "I have always looked for a way to help solve the prejudices of the world. When Bert shared with me the idea of Equality Vodka, I knew I had finally found a way to make a difference. We are asking you to take a stand by introducing and purchasing Equality Vodka where you shop and drink."

For the first 24 months, Equality Vodka has committed to donating a portion of sales to the Lambda Legal Defense Fund, the nation's oldest and largest legal organization working for the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, and people with HIV/AIDS. "Lambda Legal is changing the landscape of equality, and we are so proud to donate to their cause," said Gallagher.

Angel Irvin, co-chair of Lambda Legal Landmark Dinner, is enthusiastic about Equality Vodka's future impact in the community. "Our partnership with Equality Vodka is a seamless opportunity to do good work and indulge in a crisp, high-quality vodka at the same time," stated Irvin. "One bottle at a time...one drink at a time...makes a huge difference."

Equality Vodka's organic packaging is custom designed and features a 750 ML oval shaped bottle with an aquamarine translucent finish. The founders enlisted the help of Matthew Breen, editor-in-chief of The Advocate and deputy editor of Out, in penning their mission statement on the back of the bottle. Breen perfectly captured their sentiments, stating, "We believe that equality is a promise that should extend to all Americans. Yet, it is still an unfulfilled dream for many members of the LGBT community. We are determined to make a change and invite you to join us."

Equality Vodka is a premium brand with a silky taste from start to finish. The brand is proudly made in the United States and uses only the finest ingredients, including top quality grain and specially filtered water. The vodka goes through a multi-distillation process to ensure a smooth finish. Bottled and distilled in New York, Equality Vodka is 80 proof and 40 percent Alcohol by Volume. The suggested retail price is $29.99, but may vary by location. Glazer's currently distributes Equality Vodka in Texas with plans for future expansion.

Equality Vodka encourages supporters to ask their local bars, restaurants and retail establishments to stock the brand. As proclaimed on the bottle, "If we don't have equality, truly we have nothing so drink up, speak out and purchase responsibly!"
