IUP's summer theater, Keystone Repertory Theater presents the Pennsylvania Premiere of HANDS ON A HARDBODY.
Under the scorching sun for days on end, nine Texans compete for a brand new truck, with only humor and the American dream to keep them fighting. With a book by the Pulitzer Prize-winning Doug Wright and music by Trey Anastasio, of the band Phish and Amanda Green, this show, chock full of small town values, is directed by KRT Artistic Director, Nick Hrutkay (IUP '11).
The cast, made up of fourteen students and alumni of IUP, will perform outside, in the spirit of the original competition. All performances will be held at the Flagstone Amphitheater, outside of Wallwork Hall on the Indiana University of Pennsylvania campus.
HANDS ON A HARDBODY plays June 12, 13, and 14 at 7:00 p.m. and June 15 at 2:00 p.m rain or shine. Bring a lawn chair or your favorite picnic blanket to enjoy the show. Some cover will be available for audience members.
KRT is under the direction of IUP Alumnus, Nick Hrutkay, Artistic Director, and longtime resident of Indiana, Cheryl Randal, as Managing Director. It is based out of Indiana University of Pennsylvania's Department of Theater and Dance and funded, in part, by the Student Cooperative Association.
Tickets for all the shows will be available on
iuptickets.com and at the Hub Box Office located in the Hadley Union Building on the IUP Campus. More information can be found online at
