Theater Works at Peoria Center for the Performing Arts presents a limited engagement of the well-known comedian Robert Dubac and his hilarious new show The Book of Moron opening tonight, June 20, 2013.

Dubac's shows have been described as hilarious, intelligent, provocative, and scorching. He combines theater with stand-up, and buckles the audience up for a fast-paced joyride over the pot-holed highways of cultural hypocrisy. Riding shotgun with intelligence and absurdity he crashes head first into the barriers of sex, race, religion, politics and the media. It may be offensive to some but there's laughter for all.

The Book of Moron is a hilarious journey down the rabbit-hole of hype and spin in search of the elusive truth. In it, Dubac portrays an everyday man who has lost sight of the bigger picture. He's been bombarded by so much information, white noise, hype and spin he can't remember who he is or what he believes in. Does he have a purpose? Can he think for himself? Is the truth in the details or in the pudding? Clueless, he racks his brain searching for answers. Instead he finds voices, inner voices, which pull him into a hysterical parallel universe in search of the bigger picture.

Dubac belongs to that rare breed of monologists; using words, characters and humor to create shows that are hard to categorize but effortless to enjoy. Some of his other works include The Male Intellect: an Oxymoron?, Sex, Politics and other Headaches, and Free Range Thinking.

The Book of Moron opens tonight, June 20, 2013 and runs through June 23, 2013. Tickets are on sale now and the cost is $22.50. For more information call the Theater Works box office or click here Robert Dubac tickets.
