Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts will present Steppin' Out with Ben Vereen on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 8 p.m.

Tickets are available for $49 or $59 online at www.ScottsdalePerformingArts.org or through the Patron Services Box Office at (480) 499-TKTS (8587). A limited number of VIP tickets are available for $139, which include a private post-show dessert reception with the performer.

Few entertainers today are as accomplished or as versatile as Tony Award winner Ben Vereen. His legendary performances on stage and screen transcend time and have been woven into the fabric of this country's artistic legacy.

Vereen has appeared in numerous Broadway productions, including Wicked, Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar, Pippin and A Christmas Carol. His role in Pippin garnered him both the Tony Award and the Drama Desk Award for "Best Actor in a Musical." Vereen also has showcased his versatility and creativity performing countless one-man shows in the United States, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean. He was the first simultaneous winner of the "Entertainer of the Year," "Rising Star" and "Song and Dance Star" awards from the American Guild of Variety Artists. Vereen's acting credits include many other memorable roles, such as Chicken George in Roots and Louis Armstrong in Louis Armstrong: Chicago Style.

A musical autobiography of Vereen's life in showbiz, Steppin' Out features Broadway classics, songs made famous by Frank Sinatra and a very special tribute to his longtime friend and mentor, Sammy Davis, Jr.

In addition to Ben Vereen, a number of other Broadway stars will appear at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts this season, including Tyne Daly on Jan. 27, Patti LuPone on March 3 and Jane Krakowski on March 31. Oscar-winning composer Marvin Hamlisch will headline the annual ARTrageous benefit gala on Dec. 3 along with Linda Eder and J. Mark McVey.
