Big, The Musical is based on the much-loved movie that made Actor and Producer Tom Hanks a star. It tells the story of a 12-year-old boy, named Josh, who wishes he could be an adult. A fortune-telling machine at a carnival grants his wish and he wakes up the next morning has a 30-year-old-man. Soon he discovers there is much more to being "big" than he bargained for. For the first time in history, Theater Works has combined its MasterWorks and YouthWorks programs into one "huge" production. The show consists of forty-six actors ranging in age from nine to sixty years old.

"This is the best of what Theater Works offers collaborating in so many different a

spects," says Artistic Director, Robyn Allen. "We are so excited at the talent in this show from the actors to the production team, to choreography and more. Our set design team created the iconic giant piano with keys that actually depress and light-up," continued Allen. "And not to be outdone, Zoltar, the old carnival fortune-telling machine, rises from the stage as a animated puppet with eyes that glow and a mouth that fully functions - as he grants a little boys wish."
Dennis J. Clark, who plays the lead role of Adult Josh, sought out Theater Works specifically for this opportunity. He currently resides in New York where he performs in Off-Broadway productions, tours and regional theatres across the country. Clark says, "This is a dream role that he has always wanted to perform."
