The festivals two headline acts will both perform at Jazz at Brookfield Place. In a huge coup for West Australian jazz, Perth bass-extraordinaire Dane Alderson is the newest member to join Yellowjackets and will perform at PIJF as part of their international touring band, as well on their upcoming album.

In a first for the event, Cathedral Square will play host to a number of free performances on Saturday 4 June, including two special performances in St George's Cathedral by Alex Da Costa & Graham Wood Trio (PER) and Christ McNulty (USA), who will perform her new orchestral album Eternal.

PIJF will deliver the highest quality Jazz program from a wide range of popular and innovative international, national and local jazz artists. Artistic Director Graham Wood felt that the highly talented pool of Jazz players from Perth deserved a platform and dedicated event to reach the fans of this celebrated and talented art form.

"Perth International Jazz Festival is a fantastic celebration of music that can be enjoyed by a huge range of people. There really is something for everyone in this program and it's fantastic to see so many talented artists converge on our wonderful city for a weekend of great music, food, wine and fun - don't miss it", said Mr. Wood.
