Philippine Development Foundation ('PhilDev') will present it's upcoming gala event, PhilDev Celebrates Broadway: Suites by Sondheim,on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 7:30pm at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center in New York City. Headlining the event are Tony Award winners Robert Lopez, who will be honored with an Award of Excellence, and international star Lea Salonga. Yesterday, BroadwayWorld caught up with Salonga in rehearsal for the event and was given a sneak peak of her rendition of Sondheim's 'Move On'!

The cast is led by Reeve Carney as ‘Peter Parker/Spider-Man,' Tony Award nominee Jennifer Damiano as ‘Mary Jane Watson,' T.V. Carpio as ‘Arachne,' Patrick Page as ‘Norman Osborn/Green Goblin.' Last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, they unveiled a new spoof commercial for SPIDER-MAN: Turn Off the Dark.

The production has released new footage of T.V. Carpio performing 'Rise Above' which has been seen as an anthem by the show's creative team and cast as well to ignore the negative attention that's been lavished upon the production.

The stars of SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark appeared on CBS's 'The Early Show' this morning, March 1. In a sit-down interview with Chris Wragge, stars Reeve Carney, Jennifer Damiano, and T.V. Carpio discussed the show and their performance that night on 'The Late Show With David Letterman,' where they debuted the show's Act I anthem, 'Rise Above.'

As we reported previously, T.V. Carpio has officially assumed the role of 'Arachne' in SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark, replacing Natalie Mendoza who departed the production last week after suffering a concussion at an early preview. Directed by Julie Taymor and featuring a book by Julie Taymor and Glen Berger, and new music and lyrics by U2's Bono and The Edge, SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark is now in previews at Broadway's Foxwoods Theatre (213 West 42nd Street). On September 10, Spider-Man Reeve Carney introduced the first song from the upcoming Broadway show, 'Boy Falls From the Sky' on Good Morning America. Carney performed the song, composed by Bono and The Edge at the Hudson Theatre in the Millennium Hotel, with the performance broadcast live during the 8am-9am hour.
