On last night's CBS News, producer James Wesley, and his husband, Broadway's Seth Rudetsky, spoke to Dr. Jon LaPook about how they put together the Broadway for Orlando project to benefit Orlando's LGBT community.

An all-star roster of theater artists gathered today to record the new benefit single 'What the World Needs Now is Love' for victims of the Orlando Shooting. Broadway Records President Van Dean, Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley announced the single and the charitable initiative 'Broadway for Orlando' earlier today. The highly anticipated new musical Waitress, opens Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue), with previews starting on Friday, March 25, 2016. Waitress played a sold out limited engagement at the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA. The company just met the press today and below, watch as Jessie Mueller and Drew Gehling perform 'Bad Idea.'

Can't wait for Waitress? Neither can we. It's just weeks until Sara Bareilles new musical begins previews at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre and the company is hard at work to get the show ready for Broadway. We stopped by the rehearsal room earlier this week, where we caught Ogie's big song, 'I Love You Like a Table,' performed by Christopher Fitzgerald and Kimiko Glenn.

An all-new promo for WAITRESS, featuring composer Sara Bareilles and star Jessie Mueller has been shared on the show's official Facebook page.

 On October 26th, 2015 at the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center, award-winning composer/lyricist Alexander Sage Oyen was featured in the Broadway's Future Songbook Series - presented by Arts and Artists at St. Paul.

'Submissions Only,' Broadway's favorite webseries, will air its newest and final episode of Season 3 onBroadwayWorld.com on Sunday, June 8, immediately following the Tony Awards broadcast. La Jolla Playhouse presents Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, a world-premiere musical featuring a story by The Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne and Playhouse Director Emeritus Des McAnuff (Jersey Boys, Jesus Christ Superstar), music and lyrics by The Flaming Lips, and direction by Des McAnuff.
