Theatre [502] continues its Small Batch Series with a staged reading of Sorrow's End by Nathaniel Lachenmeyer on October 23 at 7 p.m. at The Vault, 1031 S. 6th, following a four-day workshop process led by Theatre [502] Co-Artistic Director Amy Attaway.

Will Eno's new play The Realistic Joneses will come to Broadway in Spring of 2014 starring Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winner; Academy Award and Tony Award-nominee Toni Collette (“Hostages,” “United States of Tara,” The Sixth Sense, The Wild Party), Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award-winner Michael C. Hall (“Dexter,” Chicago), Tony Award-winner Tracy Letts (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?; August: Osage County; “Homeland”), and Academy Award-winner and Gold Globe-nominee Marisa Tomei (My Cousin Vinny; The Wrestler; Salome). The production will be directed by Obie Award-winner Sam Gold, who is currently represented by Fun Home at the Public Theater.

American Theater Company announces Town Hall, a series of interdisciplinary artistic events that spark debate on a national issue. YALE REPERTORY THEATRE continues to support MARIE ANTOINETTE by David Adjmi, commissioned by Yale Rep, now in previews at Off-Broadway's Soho Rep.

Award-winning theatre company, Son of Semele Ensemble (SOSE), will present the West Coast premiere of Civilization (All You Can Eat), by playwright Jason Grote. Directed by SOSE ensemble member Don Boughton and choreographed by Ken Roht, Civilization opens October 11th at the Son of Semele Theater.

Naked Angels (Liz Carlson, Artistic Director) and The New School for Drama (Pippin Parker, Director) present Angels Ajar, an exclusive preview of brand new full-length work by some of the industry's most revered and promising talent on November 4th. He's just like you, except worse. He is trying to save his life, to save your life-in that order. In his quest for salvation, he'll stop at nothing, be distracted by nothing, except maybe a piece of lint, or the woman in the second row.

The Flea Theater has announced the World Premiere of Mallery Avidon's MARY-KATE OLSEN IS IN LOVE. This satire about love and growing-up and "being real" will be directed by Flea Resident Director Kristen Seemel and feature members of The Bats. Previews begin November 1 with opening slated for November 18. Says Producing Director Carol Ostrow, "this witty and wise play by on-the-rise writer Mallery Avidon tackles the notion of love, sex and marriage and the challenges of 20-somethings who think they know how to have it all."

Kathleen Chalfant and Kate Mulgrew will host the Vineyard Theatre's annual Emerging Artists Luncheon today, Oct. 3 from noon to 2 p.m. at the National Arts Club (15 Gramercy Park South) in Manhattan. The event will feature the presentation of the 2013 Paula Vogel Playwriting Award to Christopher Chen, a San Francisco-based playwright whose works include THE HUNDRED FLOWERS PROJECT and other plays. Ms. Vogel will be in attendance and present the award.

The Cultch presents the world premiere of Up-in-the-air Theatre's Inside the Seed, a re-imagining of Oedipus Rex as a modern-day tragedy. Inside the Seed is set in a giant bio-genetics corporation that aspires to grow the perfect seed-The Golden Grain, and to thusly feed the world and end starvation. Deeply relevant, with a hard edge of comedy- Inside the Seed is passionately and unabashedly political with the tension, pace and the energy of a thriller. Inside the Seed is directed by Richard Wolfe and designed by Florence Barrett (costumes), Jerguš Opršal (Set, Lights, Projections) and Jordan Lloyd Watkins (sound). The large, fully professional, multi-cultural cast, includes: Mia K Ingimundson, Carl Kennedy, Tamara McCarthy, Adele Noronha, Alison Raine, Patrick Sabongui, Dallas Sauer and Tetsuro Shigematsu.
