According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS and The Recording Academy have announced a one-hour special on the making of 2012's Grammy Awards show. Among other behind-the-scenes footage, the documentary will feature how the team was able to pull together a Whitney Houston tribute with less than a day's notice.

Now in its 15th season, Lincoln Center's acclaimed series American Songbook will celebrate the best in American singing and songwriting starting January 30, 2013. Opening night belongs to Lea Solanga, who captivated Broadway audiences with her debut in Miss Saigon many years ago and has since become the voice of Disney movie princesses as well as starring in other major musicals.

On Monday, December 17, the monthly "Frank & Friends" concert took place as part of the Broadway at Birdland concert series. Once again, multi-Grammy and Tony nominated composer and host Frank Wildhorn gathered some of his talented pals to sing his pop and theater songs, but this night was extra-special. Over the past few months, Wildhorn has used the concerts to raise funds for The Actors Fund, so to celebrate the years end, he presented a check for $4000 to the Fund's Tim Pinckney.

Broadway at Birdland has announced the continuation of the partnership with multi-Grammy and Tony nominated composer Frank Wildhorn with two holiday-themed "Frank & Friends" concerts. These evenings will celebrate the holiday songs and favorite performers from the composer's wide range of work in popular, theatrical and classical music.
